The real estate book is the book of listings. There are still vestiges of the old the hard copy binder, with the particular agency's paper-printed listings inside, but the real estate book today is a computer terminal. In pre-internet times, the real estate book was the agency's bible as it contained all of the listings and the information about all of the agency's properties. The book will contain all of the contact information about the sellers, the times when the property may be shown, information that might not be in the listing such as a home's historical significance or landmark status and whether there are any sales incentives which the seller has to offer.
The variation of the real estate book is the sales brochures that most agency's offer. These booklets are the thumbnail versions of the website and book listings and are often presented to purchasers to familiarize them with the community
and the Local merchants will often advertise in these booklets to introduce themselves and their services and to give a flavor to the community. In many communities, a number of realtors will combine their advertising efforts to put together a rather extensive booklet, which can become a valuable tool for a new member of the community, particularly when in need of local craftsmen or services.
